Toy Description: Back in 2006 we started seeing some very impressive re-makes of old Mego character dolls sold back in the 70s. Star Trek and Planet of the Apes figures were popular and well received, but primarily by collectors and fans of the shows. Because of the limited audience the toys were sold in specialty shops rather than the children's toy stores. These remakes were however a hopeful glimpse of what could be around the corner. Star Trek and Apes are all well and good but the most anticipated figures are the Worlds Greatest Super-Heroes.
At this years San Diego Comic Con, EMCE and Mattel Toys announced the return of the DC Mego Superheroes. The line will start with Superman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow and the villains Sinestro and Lex Luthor. Sinestro will have his work cut out for him on the playground as there will be two Green Lanterns, Hal Jordon and John Stewart. Green Arrow will be an exclusive on Mattycollector.com but all other figures will sell in Toy stores like Toys R Us. No news on any Marvel heroes getting into the release or ideas of the partnerships it would bring. Hasbro most likely. Let's just keep our fingers crossed.

Actually Diamond Select Toys is not
involved in the DC WGSH - Mattel is
partnered with EMCE Toys on this project.
